COVID-19 vaccination awareness programme held in Moreh

The event was organised by the Tengnoupal district Health department in association with the district administration.

A one-day awareness programme on COVID-19 vaccination was held at the conference hall of Hill Tribal Council (HTC)-Moreh on Thursday.

The event was organised by the Tengnoupal district Health department in association with the district administration. It witnessed the attendance of DC, Tengnoupal N Praveen; ADC Moreh; CMO of Tengnoupal district and OC Moreh police station along with leaders and office bearers of HTC, Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Kuki Khanglai Lompi, Moreh Youth Club and Kuki Women Union for Human Rights (KWUHR) amongst others,

During the event, MO-SDH Moreh, Dr Sweety Thangeo; MO in-charge, PHC Moreh, Dr Shantikumar and other Medical staff provided explanations to dispel the doubts and concerns raised by the civil body leaders in regard to COVID-19 vaccines. They also urged civil body leaders to promote vaccination among the community who had been hesitant due to mistrust and misinformation about the vaccines.

In the meantime, as a part of the ongoing vaccination drive, a vaccination programme was organised at Eastern Shine School-Moreh on Thursday. The event proved to be highly beneficial for the residents of Heinoumakhong Leikai and Moreh Turel Wangma Leikai with more than 120 people from the localities getting vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the Moreh Covid Task Force and Tengnoupal district administration had decided to conduct a community wise mass vaccination programme, and the schedule has already been fixed.
