Manipur on Thursday reported two more COVID-19 deaths and 36 new positive cases, according to the latest official update. The day's positivity rate is 6.5 per cent.
The two COVID-19 fatalities reported on Thursday were from Imphal West. Both deceased had comorbidities and were vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, a release by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new positive cases included 13 from Imphal West, six, including 1 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel from Senapati, five each from Bishnupur and Imphal East, four from Ukhrul, and one each from Churachandpur and Kakching.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
With the new positive cases, the state's cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed caseload climbed to 1,39,249 while death toll mounted to 2,133, as per the update.
On Thursday, Manipur saw a total of 553 COVID-19 tests. Manipur has so far conducted 16,34,360 COVID-19 tests.
The state also recorded 62 new COVID-19 recoveries, increasing the cumulative recovered cases to 1,36,713 and the recovery rate is 98.18 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 160 D-type oxygen cylinders and seven B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of August 3.
The number of beds available at JNIMS is 22 of 38 total beds, while at RIMS, it is 42 of 62 total beds as of Thursday.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 31,18,472 (first dose: 16,17,410, second dose: 12,89,581 and precautionary dose: 2,11,481).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.22 per cent and for the second dose is 54.06 per cent, it mentioned.
