Coronavirus: 17 new COVID-19 cases push Assam's tally to 2,17,042

Assam recorded two COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 1,081.

Assam's COVID-19 caseload reached 2,17,042 after 17 more persons were confirmed positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, while the number of recovered cases mounted to 2,13,857 with 94 new recoveries, according to the National Health Mission (NHM) bulletin.

As per the bulletin, COVID-19 positivity rate in Assam is 3.38 per cent while the recovery rate is 98.53 per cent.

Assam recorded two COVID-19 fatalities on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 1,081, the bulletin said, adding that there are 757 active COVID-19 cases in the state.

Meanwhile, a total of 19,945 beneficiaries have so far received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Assam, the bulletin added.
