Active COVID-19 caseload in India drops to 32,282

India recorded 2,529 new COVID-19 positive cases and 12 more deaths in 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.

India on Thursday recorded 2,529 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the country's tally 4,46,04,463, while the active caseload dropped to 32,282 to according to the Union Health Ministry.

Active cases constitute 0.7 per cent of the country's total positive cases, the Health Ministry said.

The death toll climbed to 5,28,745 with 12 more fatalities in 24 hours hours, while the cumulative number of recovered cases increased to 4,40,43,436 with 3,553 new recoveries. The recovery rate is 98.74 per cent as on Thursday.

As many as 89,62,68,264 COVID-19 tests have so far been conducted in India, including 1,22,057 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry.

While the weekly positivity rate in the country was recorded at 1.38 per cent, the daily positivity rate was reported to be 2.07 per cent, the ministry added.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has reached 2,18,84,20,182, including 4,76,44,933 precaution doses.
