20 children from Manipur receive benefits under PM Cares for Children Scheme

Manipur CM N Biren Singh joined the virtual programme of the release of benefits under PM CARES for Children Scheme on Monday.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh informed that a total of 20 children from the state received benefits under PM Cares for Children Scheme on Monday.

Of the 20 children who received the benefits under PM Cares Children, five were from from Imphal East, three each from Imphal West and Bishnupur, six from Ukhrul, and one each Senapati, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur. 

CM Biren also attended the virtual programme of the release of benefits and other services to the children under “PM Cares for Children Scheme” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. Ministers Th Biswajit, L Sushindro Meitei; MLAs L Rameshwor Meitei, Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Th Arunkumar; secretary to chief mnister Ningthoujam Geoffrey; chairman Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights Ph Manibabu; DC Imphal East Khumanthem Diana; Director (Social Welfare) Ng Uttam and other officials also attended the video conference from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Imphal.

The Manipur chief minister informed in a series of tweets that the benefits under the scheme included financial support, health card under PMJAY & CMHT, assistance for school and higher education, laptops, assistance under CM gi Anagangi Tengbang, among others.

The benefits under the scheme will ensure that the welfare and best interests of the COVID-affected children are protected till they attain the age of 23 years.

"Altogether, 20 children from Manipur received the benefits under PM Cares for Children Scheme today. The virtual meeting was also attended by Hon’ble Ministers, Hon’ble MLAs and Senior Govt officials," CM Biren tweeted.

"The benefits include financial support, distribution of PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat) and CMHT, assistance for school and higher education, laptops, assistance under Chief Minister gi Anagangi Tengbang, among others," the chief minister said in another tweet.

Releasing the benefits under PM CARES for Children Scheme via video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that PM CARES for Children is a small effort to reduce the difficulties of  COVID-19 affected children who lost both their mother and father.
