Assam to withdraw all Covid-related restrictions from February 15

All Covid-related restrictions in Assam have been withdrawn as the COVID-19 pandemic situation has improved.

Assam Chief Minister on Monday said that the state will withdraw all Covid-related restrictions from February 15 as the COVID-19 situation has improved.

Informing the same on Twitter, the chief minister also requested the eligible HS and HSLC students to complete their vaccination before their exams.

"In view of the improving #COVID19 situation, we've decided to withdraw all restrictions from February 15. However, protocols for use of masks & sanitizers shall continue. I also request eligible HS & HSLC students to complete their vaccination before the start of their exams," the chief minister tweeted.

On Sunday, Assam recorded 256 new COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 2.39 per cent while 12 more died due to the infection. Assam has so far recorded 7,21,380 COVID-19 cases, including 6,561 deaths, 9,701 active cases and 7,05,118 recoveries, according to the Union Health Ministry.
