Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma distributes appointment letters to 11,236 recruits

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday distributed appointment letters to 11,236 recruits in 24 departments at Veterinary Playground, Khanapara in Guwahati.

Taking to Twitter, the Assam chief minister said the appointment letters were distributed as part of the state government's commitment to provide government jobs to 1 lakh youths of the state.

"As part of our commitment to provide Govt jobs to 1 lakh youth in our State, distributed appointment letters to 11,236 recruits in 24 depts. We carried out the entire recruitment process purely on merit and in a transparent manner. My best wishes to all new appointees!" CM Sarma tweeted.

The chief minister also said that advertisements for 10,000 more government posts will be published soon while the recruitment process for filling up 26,000 Class III & IV posts has already begun. Steps for self-employment of 2 lakh youths will be taken, CM Sarma added.

"Recruitment process for filling up 26,000 Class III & IV posts has already started. Advertisement for 10,000 more posts will be published soon & steps will be taken for self-employment of 2 lakh youth. Urge the new recruits to work with dedication & help in fighting corruption." the CM said in another tweet.

In the first year of formation of government, 4,779 regular recruitment were given to 11 departments on May 14 while four days of the second year of the tenure after completing the new tenure submitted appointment letters for 22,958 posts, the chief minister said in a Facebook post.
