Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission swearing-in ceremony called off

The APPSC swearing-in ceremony was called off following the request placed by the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum and the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee.

The Arunachal government has called off the swearing-in ceremony of the new team of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission scheduled on Friday, sources said.

According to a release issued by the state government, an emergency state cabinet meeting was held via video conferencing at 11 am Friday and during which it was decided to call off the swearing-in ceremony of the new chairman and members of the APPSC.

The APPSC swearing-in ceremony was called off following the request placed by the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) and the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee, the release stated.

It further stated that it was also decided that the matter will be discussed with all community based organisations (CBO) and stakeholders of Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu has appealed for maintaining peace and tranquillity amid reports of APPSC paper leak scam.
