Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday launched the Rashtriya Poshan Maah, 2021 and Matru Vandana Saptah, 2021 at the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Imphal.
Launching the schemes, CM Biren urged all eligible beneficiaries to enrol and avail the benefits of Rashtriya Poshan Maah and Matru Vandana Saptah.
While Rashtriya Poshan Maah aims to provide antenatal care, promote optimal breastfeeding, prevention from anaemia, among others, the Matru Vandana Saptah provides a cash incentive of Rs 5,000 to pregnant women and lactating mothers. This incentive is meant to provide some financial relief to women during pregnancy and mothers while attending to their infant child.
It may be mentioned that the month of September is observed as Rashtriya Poshan Maah since 2018.
Meanwhile, the chief minister also inaugurated the Keisam Mapa Bridge and the Lairikyengbam Leikai-Heikumakhong Bridge constructed under PMGSY over the Imphal River along with Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh on Tuesday.
During the inauguration, CM Biren expressed confidence that the BJP-led Manipur government will be able to bring roads and bridges at par with developed cities in the next five years.
