COVID-19 claims one more life in Meghalaya, 134 test positive
Meghalaya's COVID-19 tally surged to 75,735 on Monday.

COVID-19 claimed one more life in Meghalaya, pushing the death toll to 1,307, while 134 more persons tested positive for COVID-19, Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said.
While the COVID-19 fatality on Monday was reported from Ri Bhoi district, the new COVID-19 positive cases included 78 from East Khasi Hills, five from West Khasi Hills, two from West Garo Hills, 25 from Ri Bhoi, 12 from West Jaintia Hills, eight from East Jaintia Hills, one from South Garo Hills and three from South West Khasi Hills, Dr War informed.
With these new positive cases, the state's COVID-19 tally reached 75,735, of which 2,509 are active cases.

Meghalaya also recorded 260 new recovered cases, including 128 from East Khasi Hills, 27 from West Garo Hills, 21 from West Jaintia Hills, 26 from West Khasi Hills, one from East Garo Hills, four from North Garo Hills, one from South West Garo Hills, two from East Jaintia Hills, 45 from Ri Bhoi and five from South West Khasi Hills.
The cumulative number of recovered cases in Meghalaya is 71,919 as of Monday.
With 1,313 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by Ri Bhoi with 339 and West Khasi Hills with 334 cases.

There are 199 COVID-19 cases in West Jaintia Hills, 81 in West Garo Hills, 138 in South West Khasi Hills, 37 in East Jaintia Hills, 17 in North Garo Hills, 16 in East Garo Hills, 22 in South West Garo Hills and 13 in South Garo Hills.
