India records highest recovery rate since March 2020 with 39,157 more recoveries

With more recoveries and declining daily positive cases, India's total active caseload stood at 3,64,129, the lowest in 149 days.

India on Thursday reported 36,401 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the number of total active caseload to 3,64,129, the lowest in 149 days, as per the latest update by the Union Home Ministry.

The current COVID-19 active cases account for 1.13 per cent of the total confirmed cases; lowest since March 2020 in India.

India also noted highest recovery rate since March 2020. The Recovery rate on Wednesday increased to 97.53 per cent. A total number of 39,157 recoveries in the last 24 hours pushed the number of total recoveries to 3,15,25,080.

As the pandemic situation improves in the country, India’s weekly positivity rate (1.95 per cent) less than three per cnet for last 55 days, while the daily positivity rate stood at 1.94 per cent, less than three per cent for last 24 days.

Meanwhile, a total of over 50.03 crore tests have been conducted so far, while a total of over 56.64 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, the ministry stated.
