The deceased has been identified as one Ajoy Majumdar, son of Abhinash Majumdar of Kaptanpur Part-I, Lakhipur, Assam. He was staying in the rented house owned by one Maibam Sanatombi Singh, son of (Late) M Chaonu.

According to police, the deceased has been staying in the rented room alone and working in constructions in Bishnupur. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained.

The body was recovered by a team of Porompat Police Station and forensic team and admitted at JNIMS morgue. A case has been registered at Porompat Police Station for further investigation.
