137 returnees from Bangalore, Gujarat reach Kangpokpi
A seven month pregnant woman along with her husband and a child of Hengbung village are among the Bangalore returnees.

As many as 137 stranded people of Kangpokpi district from Bangalore and Gujarat reached Kangpokpi district headquarters on Monday. They have been sent to the district institutional quarantine centre after screening and other formalities are done at the district screening centre.
Altogether, 111 stranded Kangpokpi people from Bangalore arrived at Jiribam in special train late evening on Sunday and they reached the district screening centre at Brig M Thomas Ground at around 6.26 am.
Among the returnees, 47 people are put under surveillance at BIET Centre, Leikop under Kangpokpi assembly constituency while 32 each were put under surveillance at EMRS, Gamnom Saparmeina under Saitu assembly constituency and Thangtong Govt Hr Sec School at Thangkanphai under Saikul assembly constituency.
Later, in the afternoon at around 4.35 pm, 26 stranded Kangpokpi people from Gujarat arrived at the district screening centre via Jiribam route.
Among the returnees, 10 people were put under surveillance at BIET Centre, Leikop in Kangpokpi assembly constituency while nine people were put under surveillance at EMRS Gamnom Saparmeina in Saitu assembly constituency and seven people were send to Thangtong Govt Hr Sec School in Saikul assembly constituency.
A seven month pregnant woman along with her husband and a child of Hengbung village are among the Bangalore returnees. They were currently put under surveillance at BIET Centre, Leikop under Kangpokpi assembly constituency. They were reportedly lodged in a special room by the concerned SDO Imosana while Medical officials regularly monitored her condition.
All the returnees were provided food for free at the screening centre under the initiative of COVID-19 Emergency Food Kiosk, an initiative taken by the ADC Sadar Hills in collaboration with the KWWO and KYU.
