COVID Help: Widows provided free essential items in Moreh

The relief materials were distributed at Ima Kundong Lairembi Haraobung, and the office complexes of Tamil Sangam and Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO)-Moreh.

Spokesperson of BJP-Manipur State, Benjamin Mate distributed relief materials including rice and other essential items to widows and needy people of Moreh town on Friday.

Widows and the marginalised section of society in the border town are the ones that have been hard hit most by the border closures, trade restrictions and confinement measures following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The relief materials were distributed at Ima Kundong Lairembi Haraobung, and the office complexes of Tamil Sangam and Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO)-Moreh. Members of  Meitei Council Moreh, Tamil Sangam, KSO, Kuki Women Union and Human Rights- Moreh, and All Community Development Organization-Moreh along with other community leaders were present at the relief materials distribution events.
