The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur surpassed the 32000-mark on Sunday with single-day new positive cases of 256, while the death toll moved up to 415 with five more deaths in 24 hours, according to the state health department.
With the new positive cases, the state's COVID-19 caseload reached 32,161 and the number of COVID-19 active cases has risen to 1,823, a release issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new positive cases included 242 from the general population while 14 are Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, the release stated.
Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 positive cases at 112 and 56 respectively. The other new positive cases from the general population included 17 from Bishnupur, 13 each from Thoubal, Kakchung and Churachandpur, four each from Ukhrul, Noney and Kangpokpi, three from Chandel, two from Jiribam and one from Kamjong, as per the release.
Manipur also recorded 80 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 29,923. The state's COVID-19 recovery rate fell to 93.04 per cent on Sunday from 93.53 per cent on Saturday.
The COVID-19 deaths recorded on Sunday included three from Imphal West and one each from Bishnupur and Imphal East, it stated.
Meanwhile, air passengers who travelled to the state on April 25 by Indigo flights 6E-6181 in rows 16-21 and 6E-21 in rows 29-35 have been asked to inform the Common Covid Control Room at 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately.
As per the latest updates, the cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state reached 2,07,765.
All persons above 45 years are advised to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, District hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals, the release added.
