Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh said that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Confirming it on Twitter, the DoNER minister asked all those who came in contact with him to get themselves tested.
"I have today tested #COVID positive with symptoms. Please get yourself screened if you were in my contact recently and take care," Singh tweeted.
The DoNER minister who is also the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office is a Lok Sabha member from Jammu and Kashmir.
Several leaders posted a 'get well soon' message on Twitter.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh wrote, "My prayers for your speedy and complete recovery @DrJitendraSingh ji. Get well soon."
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also wished the DoNER minister a speedy recovery.
"Prayers for your speedy recovery Sir. I am sure you will win the battle and come back healthy again," Khandu tweeted.
"Praying for your quick and complete recovery. Get well soon," Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal tweeted.
"Praying for your speedy recovery @DrJitendraSingh ji," Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted.
BJP national spokesperson Rajyavardhan Rathore also prayed for the DoNER minister's speedy recovery.
"Praying for your speedy & complete recovery, @DrJitendraSingh ji." wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile, India reported as many as 2,59,170 new COVID-19 cases and 1,761 deaths in a span of 24 hours, taking the country's caseload to 1,53,21,089. The death toll reached 1,80,530, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
