Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, 37 days after his first shot.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said vaccination was among the few ways to defeat the virus and urged all eligible people to get vaccinated

"Got my second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS today. Vaccination is among the few ways we have to defeat the virus. If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon. Register on http://CoWin.gov.in," PM Modi tweeted.

PM Modi took Covaxin shots, developed by Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The prime minister took his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 1 as the second phase of the nationwide vaccination began for people above 60 and those above the age of 45 with comorbidities.
