Ningkhan Shimray, chief of Naga Army NSCN-IM on Thursday reassured that the long overdue final political solution of the Naga peace talks, which has spanned more than six decades, is approaching.
Shimray said that the peace talks is nearing solution with most of the major competencies having been finalised and urged the Naga people to stand united.
The Naga Army chief was speaking during the ‘Tangkhul Leaders Consultative Meeting on Indo-Naga political talks’ Thursday afternoon at TNL ground, Ukhrul.
When queried if there is no meeting point for NNPGs and NSCN (I-M) to come together during the interaction, Shimray said that everyone will be taken onboard to avoid tensions.
“However, chances are minimal as the solution of NNPGs is for Nagaland state only. They are pitching for establishing Hindustan Kingdom and joining the Indian Union. So, it does not make any sense and chances of coming together are practically slim,” he stated.
Referring specifically to NNPGs whose solution, according to him, is to join the Indian union by revisiting the infamous 16- point agreement, Shimray asked, “How can we join Egyptians bandwagon when the mission is to get out of Egypt meaning India and establish God's kingdom?”
Addressing the mammoth gathering, Kasar, Central Administrative Officer Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) said the historic Framework Agreement which was signed between Government of India and NSCN on August 3, 2015 was a great day for the Naga people as all the competencies for building Naga nations lies there. He said consultative meetings like today shall be held in the days to come.
Reverend Zaklei Kaping, pastor Phungyo Baptist Church pronounced the opening blessings while Reverend Somi Kasomwoshi, pastor Ukhrul town Baptist Church led the mass in praying for the Naga nation.
As part of the event the Naga Army presented a beautiful special number. The day-long program ended with prayer by Reverend Remember Rimai, pastor Union Baptish Church, Ukhrul.
The consultative meeting was attended by leaders of various Naga frontal organisations, Tangkhul frontal organisation leaders and general public of the district.
