Meghalaya's COVID-19 recovered cases surge to 13,401 with 15 new recoveries
Only three COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in Meghalaya on Sunday.

The number of COVID-19 recovered cases in Meghalaya surged to 13,401 as 15 more persons recuperated from the viral infection on Saturday, while the state's total caseload reached 13,693 with three new cases, director of health services (MI) Dr Aman War said.

Dr War said the new positive cases included two from East Khasi Hills district and one from East Jaintia Hills district.

With the new recoveries, the number of active cases in the state is 148 while the death toll stood at 144, Dr War said.

Among the COVID-19 active cases in Meghalaya, 91 cases are in East Khasi Hills, 30 in West Jaintia Hills, 16 in East Jaintia Hills, three each in North Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi, two each in West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills and one in South Garo Hills.

Dr War further said that 66 persons are in institutional quarantine while 93 are placed under home quarantine.

A total of 3,16,632 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Meghalaya so far, of which 3,02,939 tested negative.

There are 83,162 entrants from outside the state, Dr War added.
