Manipur Chief Minister N Biren on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Thursday called upon the people in the state for collective efforts to ensure opportunities for persons with disabilities.

“On this #InternationalDayofPersonswithDisabilities let us collectively keep working towards ensuring opportunities and improving accessibility for our Special brothers and sisters, and towards a brighter future for them,” Biren tweeted.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is being observed every December 3 all across the world since 1992.

Ahead of the day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had said: "As the world recovers from the pandemic, we must ensure that the aspirations and rights of persons with disabilities are included and accounted for in an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 world. This vision will only be achieved through active consultation with persons with disabilities and their representative organizations".
