The Joint Action Committee (JAC) Khoupum area has extended the bandh for another 48 hours starting from 5 pm November 12 till 5 pm November 14. Services under medical, military, water supply, electricity, and fire service will be relaxed, it said.

The JAC had called a 48-hour bandh from Tuesday evening (November 10 at 5 pm) in protest against the alleged “non-adherence” to the guidelines for maintaining work quality of the Tongjei Maril road stretch from Zoujangtek to Rengpang road along the National Highway-37A.

The JAC stated in a release that it had a closed-door discussion on the ongoing bandh on Tongjei Maril road along the National Highway 37A. After a threadbare discussion, it strongly condemned the attitude of the government that failed to fulfil the demand, it said.
