Underprivileged people of Inriangluang village in Tamenglong district were provided free water storage tanks by the 143 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Monday.

The water tanks were distributed to the villagers by the CRPF as a part of its Civic Action Programme in an effort to fulfill the long-standing need of the villagers. The district, one of the most neglected regions in Manipur, lacks a proper regular water supply system though the region receives good rainfall almost throughout the year.

During the programme, Assistant Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF, K Ravi Kumar stated that the unit will continue to serve the people of Manipur by carrying out such humanitarian activities under its Civic Action programme.

Under the programme, the 143 Bn CRPF has been trying to address the needs and requirements of underprivileged people in the state.

The people received the water storage tanks with joy and the locals of Inriangluang village expressed happiness and gratitude to the 143 Bn CRPF for providing them water storage tanks.
