A prisoner from the Jully Central Jail and a total of four health workers were among the 244 more people who tested positive for Coronavirus in Arunachal Pradesh Thursday, according to official sources.
The new COVID-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh included 31 security personnel.
A total of 2,48,439 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the state so far, including 2,651 on Wednesday, Of it, the total COVID-19 confirmed cases in the state is 9,796, including 2,890 active cases, while 16 have died of the infection, according to the health department.
Of the new cases, 117 were reported from the Capital Complex region, 15 each from Changlang and West Siang and 14 each from Upper Subansiri and Papumpare, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
The new cases also included 13 from West Kameng, nine from Kurung Kumey, eight from Tirap and seven from East Siang, six from Lower Siang, five in Leparada, four in Tawang, three each in Kra Daadi, Namsai and Longding, two each in Pakke Kessang, East Kameng and Upper Siang and one each in Lower Subansiri and Lohit districts.
All the new patients have been shifted to COVID Care Centres, the official said.
The state health department bulletin shows the Capital Complex region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, having the highest number of active cases at 1,583, followed by Papumpare at 197, West Siang at 170, Changlang at 135, East Siang at 114 and Upper Subansiri at 111.
Meanwhile, 147 more patients have been discharged from hospitals on Wednesday after they were tested negative. With it, the total number of recoveries now stands a 6,890 and the recovery rate is 70.33 per cent.
