The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam rose to 1,390 as six new cases were reported in different parts of the state, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a tweet on Monday.
Of the new cases, Charaideo reported four cases while Sivsagar and Nagaon reported one case each, the minister said.
"6 new cases of #COVID19+. 4 Charaideo, 1 Sivasagar, 1 Nagaon," Sarma tweeted.
With the new detections, Assam now has 1,198 active cases. While the virus had claimed four lives in the state, three patients have migrated to other states.
On Sunday, the health minister said that 22 more patients were discharged from different hospitals after they tested negative for COVID-19 twice.
The total number of recovered cases in the state stood at 185 .
The health minister had said that of the 22 new recovered cases, 16 patients were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), Guwahati, four patients from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) and two patients from Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH).
"Glad to share that 22 more patients have been discharged today after they tested negative for #COVID19 twice. MMCH 16; SMCH 04; JMCH 2," the minister tweeted on Sunday.
Meanwhile, as many as 3,208 incidents of lockdown violations have been reported from different parts of the state, according to reports, while adding that the Assam police has collected a total fine of Rs 3,17,10,850 as on May 31.
