SUNDAY MUSING: COVID DAYDREAM

And ah the clouds above - White fluffy, seamless puffs Like boats sailing In some celestial sea.

Lying on the couch

A city afternoon

Sounds of the city

Stilled by Covid

Eyelids heavy

By daylight bright

The mind relives

A scene long ago

Outside my window

By the hillside:

Green lazy river

Weaving thru' yellow vale

At the bottom of

Blue-haired range

That stretches through

Eye's end to eye's end

Against more layers

Of its different shades

That finally merged

Into the azure sky.

Like a lover

In its true one's arms

Or a child nestled

On its mother's breast

The river sleeps

Content, trusting and sure.

And ah the clouds above -

White fluffy, seamless puffs

Like boats sailing

In some celestial sea.

They'll turn to streaks

Of orange, red and yellow

When the sun descends

And the hills grow black,

But for now they're happy

To be white

against the blue.
