Manipur on Thursday recorded 24 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,25,070 while the death toll mounted to 1,966 with one new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department.
Consequently, the positivity rate fell to 1.4 per cent.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Thursday is from Imphal West. The deceased had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with eight cases. Five cases were reported from Kakching, Three from Kamjong, two each from Imphal East and Ukhrul and one each from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal.
The state also recorded 34 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,22,417. The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 687 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 280 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 105 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 21,22,498 (first dose: 12,73,906 second dose: 8,48,592). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 54.42 per cent and for second dose is 36.25 per cent, it mentioned.
