COVID-19 recoveries in Manipur surpassed its case surge with 43 more persons being discharged on Monday against 39 new COVID-19 cases as the state’s active caseload dropped to 678 from Sunday's 682. The cumulative number of COVID-19 recovered cases surged to 1,22,317 on Monday and the state's recovery rate is 97.89 per cent, official sources said.
While the state's COVID-19 tally reached 1,24,957, the death toll stood at 1,962 with no report of COVID-19 related death on Monday, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Among the new COVID-19 positive cases, 38 were from the general population while one was a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. From the general population, 10 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Imphal East, 16 from Imphal West, three each from Bishnupur and Kakching, two each from Thoubal and Chandel, and one each from Churachandpur and Ukhrul, the release stated.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
Meanwhile, a total of 267 D-type oxygen cylinders and 46 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the state in the last 24 hours, the release added.
It further stated that the cumulative number of people who have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine in Manipur reached 21,05,568 (First dose: 12,70,396 Second dose: 8,35,172).
