Manipur logs 51 new COVID-19 positive cases, two more deaths
Manipur now has 552 COVID-19 active cases as of Thursday.

Manipur on Wednesday recorded 51 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,24,639 while the death toll mounted to 1,955 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 2.5 per cent. 

The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Wednesday were from Imphal East and Imphal West. Both the deceased had comorbidities and were not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 22 and 18 cases respectively. Four cases each were reported from Bishnupur and Kakching, two from Ukhrul and one from Tengnoupal.

The state also recorded 34 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,22,132. The recovery rate is 97.99 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 552 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 736 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 107 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 20,76,012 (first dose: 12,64,522 second dose: 8,11,490). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 54.02 per cent and for the second dose is 34.66 per cent, it mentioned.
