Manipur reports 64 new COVID-19 positive cases, two deaths
Manipur has 724 COVID-19 active cases as of Wednesday.

Manipur on Wednesday recorded 64 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,24,250 while the death toll mounted to 1,940 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The daily positivity rate is 2.9 per cent. 

The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Wednesday are from Imphal West and Thoubal. Of the two deceased, one had comorbidities and both were not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 44 and nine cases respectively. Four cases were reported from Ukhrul, two each from Churachandpur and Thoubal, and one each from Bishnupur, Kangpokpi and Noney. 

The state also recorded 45 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,586. The recovery rate is 97.86 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 724 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 524 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 141 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine has reached 20,24,700 (first dose: 12,55,650 second dose: 7,69,050).
