Manipur on Tuesday recorded 55 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,23,842 while the death toll mounted to 1,925 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The daily positivity rate is three per cent.
The two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Tuesday were from Imphal East and Imphal West. Both had co-morbidities and were not vaccinated, according to a release issued by state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 31 cases. Seven cases were reported from Imphal East, eight from Tengnoupal, two each from Chandel, Thoubal and Ukhrul and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching and Noney.
All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 61 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,213. The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.
Manipur now has 704 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 353 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 46 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who has been administered vaccine had reached 19,77,481 (first dose: 12,50,254 second dose: 7,27,227).
