India logs 12,830 new COVID-19 cases, 446 more deaths
India's COVID-19 active caseload stands at 1,59,272; lowest in 247 days, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

India's cumulative COVID-19 caseload reached 3,42,73,300 with the addition of 12,830 new cases, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

Daily positivity rate is 1.13 per cent, less than 2 per cent for the last 27 days. A total of 60.83 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far across the country, as per the update.

The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed as many as 4,58,186 lives in the country, including 446 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

India also recorded 14,667 recoveries in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 3,36,55,842 and the recovery rate is 98.20 per cent, as of Sunday. With these new recoveries, India's COVID-19 active caseload stands at 1,59,272; lowest in 247 days, the Ministry stated.  The active cases account for less than 1 per cent of the total cases, currently at 0.46 per cent; lowest since March 2020, it added.

Meanwhile, with the administration of 68,04,806 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 106.14 crore (1,06,14,40,335) as per provisional reports till 7 am Sunday.
