Manipur's COVID-19 positivity rate fell to 3.2 per cent on Saturday as new COVID-19 positive cases dropped to 59. With it, the state's COVID-19 confirmed tally climbed to 1,23,668 while the death toll mounted to 1,920 with one new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Saturday belonged to Imphal East. The deceased was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 28 and 15 positive cases respectively. Three cases were reported each from Bishnupur, Chandel and Senapati, two from Thoubal and one each from Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul.
All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.
The state also recorded 221 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,040. The recovery rate stood at 97.87 per cent, the release added. Manipur now has 708 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 750 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 74 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 19,50,083 (first dose: 12,47,590 second dose: 7,02,493).
