Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauds Manipur for creation of one lakh jobs by MSMEs
Manipur is listed among the highest ranking states in NE India in both Registration of MSMEs and Employment generation in the GoI’s Analysis of Udyam Registration Data.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lauded the creation of one lakh jobs by MSMEs in Manipur. With the progress made, the state now joins the highest ranking states in the North-East Region in both registration of MSMEs and employment generation.

“Well done Manipur! Keep up the good work of leveraging the strength of the MSME sector in order to further the state’s progress,” the prime minister said in a reply to a tweet by Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

The chief minister in a Twitter post had shared the progress Manipur made in the Registration of MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) and Employment generation in the Central Government Analysis of Udyam Registration Data.

“Am extremely proud to share that Manipur is one of the highest ranking States in the North East Region in both Registration of MSMEs and Employment generation in the GoI’s Analysis of Udyam Registration Data,” he tweeted.

Biren also said that Manipur has started to witness the fruits of several initiatives taken. He said that as many as 11,172 MSMEs were registered from Manipur as of July 30, 2021, which has generated a total of 99,568 jobs for the people of the state.

“As per the GoI’s data, a total of 11172 MSMEs were registered from Manipur as of 30th July 2021, which has generated a massive employment of 99568 jobs. We have started witnessing the fruits of our initiatives like Start-Up Manipur, TRIFED etc,” Biren tweeted.

Responding to Modi's remark, Biren thanked him, saying the prime minister's guidance and support led to the growth of the state:

“Thank you Hon’ble PM for your continuous guidance and support to catapult the growth trajectory of Manipur”.

“With your visionary leadership and policies, youths from the remotest corners of Manipur are living their dreams and serving the society today,” Biren tweeted.

Narayan Rane, Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Government of India, also congratulated CM Biren and said that Manipur has set a great example.

"Congratulations! Chief Minister of Manipur Shri @NBirenSingh ji. Manipur has set a great example for all by achieving a great milestone of creating 1 lakh jobs through MSMEs," he tweeted.
