The week-long sports meet was organised at Sangrungpang playground in connection with ‘36 Youth Day’ of Sangrungpang Baptist Church under Rongmei Naga Baptist Association. The formal youth day would be held this coming Sunday, said assistant pastor Asing Pamei while delivering the welcome speech.

The week-long sports meet aims to encourage the youth to come closer to God through sports and encourage them to develop spiritually, the organisers said.

In his speech as chief guest during the opening ceremony, Panmei urged the youths to develop good discipline. Sportspersons need good health without indulging in drugs and new friendships are built through sports, he said. He also urged the youth to have strong determination in life.

Panmei also gave out 12 pensioner cards to the beneficiaries during the programme.
