In view of the upcoming state legislative assembly election in 2022, the new deputy commissioner of Tamenglong Hungyo Worshang on Friday chaired the first district level officers’ meeting at SDO Conference hall in Tamenglong.

To successfully conduct the election, altogether 18 specific assignments for nodal officers were allocated during the meeting.

District election officer and DC Tamenglong instructed the Tamenglong Police department to start preparing the means to deploy security forces and for allotting the police and central paramilitary forces at various polling stations.

Hungyo Worshang also instructed the PWD department of Tamenglong to look into the road conditions of the interior part of Tamenglong district and make them motorable before the elections.

As election is expected to be conducted during the water scarcity season, the DC also instructed the PHED department of Tamenglong to arrange water supply at the mini secretariat as most of the government officials as well as police personnel are going to be stationed in that area.

Depositing of license guns and arrangement of vehicles for the 2022 election were discussed briefly during the meeting.

With Covid situation still at an alarming rate and the paramilitary forces coming from different states of India to Tamenglong, Hungyo Worshang instructed all the government officials and staff to get vaccinated at the earliest.

The meeting also decided to issue an order to the nearby villages to deposit air guns as it is the season when Amur Falcons are roosting.

Various government departments of Tamenglong district also made a brief progress report to the new DC of Tamenglong.
