Manipur reports 113 new COVID-19 positive cases, four deaths
Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases.

Manipur on Friday recorded 113 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,22,545 while the death toll reached 1,893 with four new fatalities, according to the latest update by the state Health department. The positivity rate was 4.3 per cent. 

Of the four COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Friday, two were reported from Imphal West and one each from Kakching and Churachandpur. Three had co-morbidities and one of them was vaccinated with a second dose, according to a release issued by the State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 63 and 26 positive cases respectively. Eight cases were reported from Ukhrul, five from Kamjong, three each from Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Kakching and one case each from Kangpokpi and Kakching districts.

All precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated. The state also recorded 109 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,19,208.

The recovery rate is 97.28 per cent, the release added. Manipur now has 1,444 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 951 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 157 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 18,09,538 (first dose: 12,34,665  second dose: 5,74,873).

According to the release, there are 481 vacant general beds and 101 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in seven hospitals of Manipur. 

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 27 vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds;  in Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125) there are 25 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 20 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds; in Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158) there are 47 vacant general beds and 33 ICU/HDU beds.

In Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411) there are 81 vacant general beds and 23 ICU/HDU beds, in RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396) there are 215 vacant general beds and 28 ICU/HDU beds and in JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346) there are 66 general beds and zero ICU/HDU beds.
