Hog Deer fawn rescued from fish farm in Imphal West

A hog deer fawn that was rescued at Mayang Imphal, Imphal West was handed over to the PFA Manipur.

A male hog deer fawn that was rescued from a fish farm in Phiranbung at Mayang Imphal, Imphal West was handed over to the People for Animals (PFA) Manipur on Monday.

PFA Manipur stated in a release that one Leitanthem Kanaba from Mayang Imphal Charoibung found the fawn unable to move, while he was tending to his fish farm at Phiranbung on Sunday. He took care of the deer and handed it over to PFA Manipur on the following day, it stated.

It mentioned that an X-Ray scan revealed that the fawn had injured its front left leg. Its injured leg was mended and plastered by surgeon Dr Upendro under the supervision of MS Dr Priyokumar of State Veterinary Hospital, Sanjenthong, it stated.

"The fawn was kept at the Zoological Garden at Iroisemba for further treatment. As the fawn is too young to be fed with solid foods it is fed with a baby bottle," it stated.

Meanwhile, PFA Manipur had released a young Python which was rescued from Konchak, Mayang Imphal, it stated.

The python was released at the Langol Reserved Forest of Central Forest Division in the presence of Iroisemba Beat Office BO Laishram Somorjit Singh, it added.
