Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur and Kuki Chief Association organised massive tree plantation drive at the deforested portions of Thangjing hill range on Tuesday.

The tree plantation programme was carried out as part of the celebration of completion of four years of citizens centric governance of the BJP-led government in Manipur.
The government is taking the initiative of stopping Jhum cultivation and the project of reducing the practice of jhumming has started, the Manipur forest and environment minister said.
A total of 4,601 saplings of various types, including fruit bearing trees, were planted at Chandel town, Modi, Pallel, Bongyang, Larong, Machi, Kotal Khuntak and Moltuk villages.
