Women of Manipur are glorified for their contributions in various sections, but many of them still remain victims of different forms of violence and the number of cases is increasing.
Manipur State Commission for Women chairperson Salam Ulka Devi said that creating awareness on women issues and rights alone cannot help address crime against women.
Around 100 women from different communities, Kuki Women Union for Human Rights, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Muslim Women Development Association, Tamil Sangam Women Wing and Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup took part in the legal awareness programme.
The MSCW stated that no section of the society should give any kind of trouble in the functioning of the commission that would lead to delay in delivering justice.

A one-day legal awareness programme was held at Only Grace Home, New Lamka, Churachandpur district on Monday.
Stating that pregnant women are vulnerable to infection, MSCW drew government attention for making arrangements of centres for child delivery and centres for COVID-19 infected pregnant women to all the districts of Manipur.
