Manipur has as many as 24,000 children-cum-adolescent population using various forms of drugs, according to Keisham Pradip, a former member of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR).
During the seminar, recommendations were made for treatment of drug addiction, motivation and encouragement for treatment and early prevention up to the age of 18 years.
A street play entitled ‘Nupi Thiba Ekaijei’ was also shown to the committee members, volunteers and official staff of Mini Secretariat.
An awareness programme on ‘drugs and substance abuse’ was held at Khangabok Awang Leikai in Thoubal district on Wednesday.
The programme was organised by the members of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign on Saturday.
The IPAK also appealed to the state government to punish all involved in any activities related to drugs and other illegal activities
