The Manipur Yogasana Sports Association, affiliated to National Yogasana Sports Federation, in association with the Indian Olympic Association will conduct the third state and district-level Yogasana Championship in mid September.
Speaking to the media at the Manipur Press Club on Wednesday, Manipur Yogasana Sports Association secretary general Pukrambam Bir Prabash said that the third state and district-level Yogasana Championship syllabus and curriculum will be completely based on the Yogasana Sports Education Project syllabus.
The district championship will be held in several districts from August 25 to September 4 under the authority of the affiliated district bodies. The finalist of the district championship will be nominated for the state championship, Bir Prabash said. He said the state championship will be held mid-week of September.
The winner of the state championship will be nominated for the national championship which will be held in the month of October and then the finalist will be nominated for the Khelo India Youth and Khelo India National Games.
Under the Yogasana Sports Education Project, schools and institutions can register to be a part of the project. And, weekly classes on the new curriculum and syllabus of the National Yogasana Sports Federation will be held too, he said.
Participation of registered schools or institutes in inter-school Yogasana competition will also be conducted under YSEP project, he said. From each district nine boys and girls will be selected for the championship, he added.
