Manipur leads by a slender margin of 14 runs against Nagaland in Day One of the Men's U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2021-22 played at Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
After winning the toss, Manipur decided to bat first and could manage a meagre 50 runs for nine wickets from 22.3 overs in the first inning. Suresh Singh got 15 runs from 47 balls while Ulenyai and Dominic made an identical 13 runs.
Nagaland bowler Raja Swarnkar was picked among the bowlers as he claimed 7 wickets for 20 runs from 11.3 overs while Neizekho fetched 2 wickets for 11 runs from 6 overs.
Nagaland in reply made 80 runs for 10 wickets from 43 overs with Bamyibe Npanme making 18 runs from 43 balls while Sujal Prasad got 17 runs from 72 balls and Nizekho fetched 10 runs.
Manipur bowler Rojit bagged 5 wickets for 30 runs from 14 overs while Aziz Mirza and Jotin Ph claimed 2 wickets each and Dominic chip in with 1 wicket.
Manipur in their second innings put up 44 runs for 4 wickets from 19.5 overs with Manglemba making an unbeaten 9 runs to remain as night watchman. Earlier Ulenyai hit 31 runs from 57 balls while Suresh Singh got 3 runs. Nagaland bowler Neizekho and Mughavi Sumi claimed two wickets each.
