UKB Churachandpur beat YPHU Lalambung by 2-1 goals in the 14th Manipur State League 2021 played at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The win propels UKB to 13 points from six matches, having won four, lost one and drawn one game while YPHU is with 6 points from as many matches, winning two and losing four games.

Both the teams displayed fast paced game from the beginning and it was the UKB team who changed the statistics of the game with Manglenboi fetching the opening goal in the 25th minute and moments later, Lamthainlal consolidated with the second goal in 29th minute to gain the upper hand.

Although startled by the goal, YPHU fought back with M Leishemba snaking through the defense to push home a goal in the 35th minute in the first half. But the second half witnessed more on field aggression but no goal came forth till the final whistle. Two UKB players Lalminlun, Khummunansang and YPHU players P Renedy, Bobosana got yellow cards in the second half from referee T Ranjita.

The other match between AFC Thoubal and NACO Nambul Mapal saw the former capturing the match by 6-0 goals. Sahidur Rahaman, N Suraj Singh struck two goals each while W Tejkumar and Loyangamba fetched one goal each. 

AFC have 15 points from five wins and one lost game while NACO got 4 points from one win, one draw and four lost matches.
