UCC Uripok batted their way to the final, beating IBSA Yumnam Leikai by 44 runs in the 6th MNCA Plate Tournament 2021-22 played at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West.
Put into bat first, UCC top order batsman had a smashing time with opener S Nelson making 26 runs while Roshan Das smashed 62 runs to pile up 152 runs for 8 wickets from 30 overs. Shyam Kumar Ray made 20 runs and K Gulson contributed 14 runs.
IBSA bowlers Karan Prajapati claimed 3 wickets for 16 runs from 6 overs while Rk Pritamkumar got 2 wickets and Dilhemlung Golmei fetched 1 wicket.
Chasing the target, IBSA top batsman made a solid foundation with Rajababu making 44 runs while M Sunanda got 23 runs and N Komol chip contributed 10 runs. However, once the three departed, wickets tumbled in quick intervals as the rest of the batsman failed to cross the double figure marks and bowled out with 108 runs for 10 wickets from 29 overs.
UCC bowlers Th Yoihenba claimed 3 wickets for 14 runs from 6 overs while diamond got 2 wickets, Arnold, Gulson and Roshan Das fetched 1 wicket each. UCC batsman Roshan Das got the Man of the Match award for his 62 runs and 1 wicket.
In the second semi final on Saturday, CDC Sagolband Salam Leikai will take on KIYC Khetrigao.
