A hard hitting knock of 121 runs from Priyojit Kangabam helped TRAU Kwakeithel beat PTRC Patsoi Part VI by 44 runs in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2021-22 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
TRAU made a slow start as they lost both openers Prafullomani Singh with 5 runs and Rahul RK on 25 runs. But once Priyojit Kangabam joins in, the table turns as he smacks a hard hitting knock of 121 runs from 93 balls, consisting of 8 sixes and 8 fours, to put up 234 runs for 5 wickets from 38 overs.
Middle order batsman Dr Sidarth Shah got 22 runs while Anand Naorem with 13 runs and Behul Singh M hit an unbeaten 20 runs.
PTRC bowlers Rk Rex claimed 3 wickets for 31 runs while Abit Hijam picked up 1 wicket.
PTRC Patsoi batsmen had a troubled time as TRAU bowlers gave them an unsettling time, breaking off partnership particularly in the middle order. Opener Kh Santosh gave a good start scoring 27 runs but did not tick long.
Middle order batsman Ng Jameshon with 39 runs and Ch Bidash with 45 runs tried to lift the game but once they got out, wickets crumbled, leaving PTRC with 190 runs for 10 wickets from 35.1 overs for the defeat. TRAU bowler Puinchandra, Dr Sidarth claimed 3 wickets each while Maniakash Kumar, Priyojit Kangabam, Bijenkumar fetched 1 wicket each.
TRAU batsman Priyojit Kangabam was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his 121 runs from 93 balls and 1 wicket haul.
