TRAU Kwakeithel post four wins in Elite Tournament

TRAU Kwakeithel posted a 60 runs win against Reys Khwai Nagamapal in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2021-22.

TRAU Kwakeithel posted a 60 runs win against Reys Khwai Nagamapal in the 6th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2021-22 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.

TRAU rode on the shoulder of the man in form, Priyojit Kangabam who smashed 87 runs off 68 deliveries along with P Prafullomani Singh who struck 40 runs from 49 balls to post a decent total of 177 runs for 7 wickets from 30 overs. Bishorjit Singh Nongmaithem contributed 21 runs as well.

Reys bowlers Alfre Hmar claimed 4 wickets for 33 runs from 6 overs while Kiran Laishram took 2 wickets and Y Romario fetched one wicket.

Chasing the target, Reys opening batsman Kiran Laishram with 27 runs and Mintu Chandra with 28 runs made a good start but once they departed back to the pavilion, wickets started to crumble like a pack of cards.

Y Romario tried to rotate the strike making 21 runs but failed in his mission as the rest of the batsman failed to cross double figure mark in the match, for the loss.

TRAU bowler Bijenkumar Nongmaithem bagged 4 wickets for 14 runs from 6 overs while Amritakaran Yumnam got 3 wickets, Anand Naorem took 2 wickets and Priyojit Kangabam got 1 wickets. Later TRAU player Priyojit Kangabam was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 87 runs and 1 wicket haul.

With the victory, TRAU Kwakeithel continue to enjoy the lead from Group A with four victories from as many matches while Reys Khwai Nagamapal is yet to register a win in the league.
