With another hattrick, an emerging footballer from Kangpokpi, Songpu Singsit shone in Kuki Football Academy's win over Haipi Youth Athletics in the ongoing Thadou Trophy at Saparmeina public ground on Thursday.
Songpu Singsit's hattrick in the 39th, 41st, and 74th(P), before Haokholen's 81st-minute goal, gave the Kuki Football Academy a 4-3 win over the Haipi side to sail through to the semi-finals round in the tournament.
The Haipi Youth Athletics also played well despite a narrow loss as Mangpi (59th), Ngambom (66th), and Sesem (76th) scored against the KFA.
In the second quarterfinal match, Dr Nehginpao Memorial Team overwhelmed the contender FC Concord to book a berth in the semi-final round as a prominent ISL player from Manipur Jackichand brilliantly formed the play formation and combination of Dr Nehginpao Memorial Team.
The appearance of Jackichand drew a mammoth crowd during the match.
An early 3rd-minute goal from Robinson before Lalminlun's 52nd strike and Lalsiem's 90th+ goal gave Dr Nehginpao Memorial Team the second semifinal berth as the contender FC Concord managed to score a single goal through veteran striker S Tuboi in the 86th-minute.
Tomorrow, The Legends will play the third quarterfinal match with Leikot Area Youth Organization while the last quarterfinal match will be played between TSA Sadar Hills and HMLT K Gamnomphai.
