TG English School, Bishnupur emerged winners, beating Keinou High School by 3-2 goals in the U-17 Boys category of the 61st District Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament  for U-17 Boys played at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur on Friday.

With the win, TG English School will represent Bishnupur in the State Level Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament likely to be held in June first week at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Keinou HS made some early moves and got the reward when L David fetched the opening goal in the 11th minute of the play. However, TG English School were swift to reply with N Abungton fetching the equaliser in 12 minute to level 1-1 goals in the first half.

TG English School raced up and latches on every opportunity they got and finally was able to bring a change in the scorecard with K Langanglung getting the second goal in the 38th minute and the very next minute Suraj Wangkhem bring up the third goal in 39th minute, to take a 3-1 goals leap.

However, the overjoyous approach also cost TG English School with Th Naresh conceding an own goal while trying to make a clearance in 44 minute but as no further damage was inflicted upon, TG English School manned their defence well for the victory.

As for the U-14 Boys category, Utlou High School beat TG English School, Bishnupur by a solitary goal to stake a place in the State Level Tournament. P Raja Singh delivers the lone winning goal in the 12th minute of play.
