Angom Ronaldo Meitei of Bishnupur will face Mashungchui Phungsok of Ukhrul in the final of the Junior Boys 48kg bout in the State Level Boxing Championship 2022 (XXIX Junior Boys and XIII Junior Girls) organised by Manipur Amateur Boxing Association at Boxing Ring Khuman Lampak.

The boxing championship which got underway on Wednesday saw, Ronaldo Meitei taking on Kh Bidyananda Singh of Imphal West in the semi final bout and emerged winner with 3-2 point verdict while M Phungshok beat S Bikash Meitei of Kakching by 3-2 point as well, enroute to the final.

In another 46kg bout, M Nikison Meitei of Imphal East beat Ch Naoba of Imphal West by 4-1 points while Md Mujahid of Kakching outfoxed Awungshi Jingo of KNJ units by 5-0 points, to storm into the final match.

In the Junior Boys 52 kg, M Yaikhomba of Imphal East and T Radhakanta Singh of Thoubal in 63 kg bout also emerged triumphant to book their final berth. The other Junior Boys who made it to the semi final round are, M Herojit of Kakching in 54kg, E Sunanda Singh of Kakching in 57kg, Thuiranring Kharing of Ukhrul in 50kg and L Jayalaxmi Devi of Imphal East in Junior Girls 46kg.
