Sports Wrap: Manipur lose by six wickets against Nagaland in Cooch Behar Trophy

Manipur scored 50 runs for 9 wickets in their first innings and 145 runs for 10 wickets in second innings.

Manipur faced 6 wickets defeat at the hands of Nagaland in the Men's U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2021-22 played at Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar.

Resuming their overnight second innings score of 44 runs for 4 wickets in Day Two-2 play, Manipur could add 101 runs for 10 wickets from 70.3 overs with Jotin Pheiroijam top scoring with 41 runs from 95 balls while Manglemba made 34 runs and Ulenyai got 31 runs to post 145 runs for 10 wickets from 70.3 overs.

Nagaland pacer Neizekho was picked among the bowlers as he claimed 4 wickets for 50 runs from 20.3 overs while Mughavi Sumi fetched 3 wickets for 28 runs from 13 overs and Keduowhetuo bagged 2 wickets and Odilema chip in with 1 wicket.

In reply, Nagaland rode on Yugandhar who scored 44 runs from 30 balls while Sujal Prasad remained unbeaten with 37 runs from 73 balls to reach the target, scoring 116 runs for 4 wickets from 29.4 overs for the victory. Manipur bowlers Aziz Mirza, Rojit and Robinson picked up 1 wicket each.

Manipur scored 50 runs for 9 wickets in their first innings and 145 runs for 10 wickets in second innings. As for Nagaland, they put up 80 runs for 10 wickets in the first innings and 116 runs for 4 wickets in the second innings.

CC Meet 2022 to begin from February 4: AMFA

The 63rd Sir Churchand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2021-22, more commonly known as CC Meet, organised by the All Manipur Football Association will begin from February 4, 2022. The AMFA in a press statement said, teams entry from AMFA Cup and Winners' Cup will be accepted till January 10, 2022 while that of Invitation Teams will be entertained till January 20 and all Manipur State League teams will be allowed to be registered for the meet till January 25. The last date of submission of registration forms for all teams will be January 27, 2022. It further said it is mandatory for all participating teams to register their players under CRS & CMS.

MSL to resume from Jan 3, 2022

The postponed 14th Manipur State League 2021 and 12th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2021-22 will resume from January 3 and 4, 2022 respectively at its scheduled venue at Artificial Turf, Lamlong Thongkhong.
